Nanhua University sent lucky gift bags, and international students received traditional hand-made treats to celebrate the Lunar New Year

Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic throughout the world, most international students studying in Taiwan were unable to return to their homelands for the Lunar New Year. In order to alleviate their homesickness, the Department of International and Cross-Strait Affairs of Nanhua University organized a series of Chinese New Year celebrations to experience hand-made treats and traditional festival culture. With five Lunar New Year activities, 165 international students experienced local holiday traditions. Nanhua specially prepared a “Rush to Happy Lunar New Year Lucky Gift Bag”, which contained apples symbolizing peace, oranges representing auspiciousness, biscuits, beverages, instant noodles, and other foods, as well as a NT$1 as a symbol of restarting the New Year. University president also gave holiday blessings to international students.
